Luke instructs his readers who live in contexts of suffering and, for some, persecution, that support is available from the Spirit while their destinies are charted by the Spirit. In his gospel, Luke identifies opposition throughout the life of Jesus who ministered in association with the Spirit. In his second volume, he traces the same consequence of Spirit-inspired ministry receiving acceptance but also opposition.7 In Luke, Jesus suffers; in Acts, his followers suffer.
